Our Firm regularly advises clients in the structuring and restructuring of ownership of closely held business enterprises globally best to achieve long-term family goals in a tax-efficient way. For example, S&C has, over many years, counseled the majority of the Pritzker family beneficiaries in the restructuring of their worldwide business empire, which includes extensive international lodging, leisure, real estate, industrial and gaming operations.

Most recently, our Firm represented a Bancroft family member in connection with News Corp.’s acquisition of Dow Jones for US$ 5 billion. The Bancroft family had controlled Dow Jones since 1902.
